งานชิ้นนี้เกิดจากการที่ผมเป็นคนนับถือในหลักคำสอนของศาสนาพุทธ (Spiritual) แต่หากมองลงไปถึงคำว่าศาสนาพุทธในยุคนี้สิ่งที่หลายคนให้ความเคารพนับถือกลับเป็นรูปเคารพ เครื่องรางหรือตัวแทนของศาสนาที่เห็นผ่านทางตา (Myth) เท่านั้น เราจะเห็นได้ว่ามนุษย์ทุกคนสามารถบวชเป็นพระได้แต่ข่าวในปัจจุบันเผยให้เห็นว่ามนุษย์กลับทำให้ศาสนาเสื่อมเสีย ผมจึงเกิดคำถามขึ้นว่ามนุษย์ศรัทธาในศาสนาพุทธจริง ๆ หรือเป็นแค่เพียงศรัทธาในรูปลักษณ์ที่บ่งบอกว่านี้คือศาสนาพุทธ เรามองเห็นอะไรในศาสนาพุทธ นำไปสู่การถ่ายรูปชุด “นับถือ” (Honor) จากการที่ผมนำข้าวของเครื่องใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันมาห่อหุ้มด้วยจีวรที่ทำให้เกิดฟอร์มของพระพุทธรูป
This work is created regarding my belief in the “spiritual” teaching of Buddhism. However, if we look closely at Buddhism in a present day, we will see that many people are likely to show more respect to “myths” including icons, amulets or other representatives of the religion which can only be seen through eyes. Every human can ordain as a monk; by contrast, from the news, many of them tend to disgrace Buddhism. Because of this, I am curious whether people really have a faith in Buddhism or just in objects that represent the religion. The question of what we really see in Buddhism leads to the creation of this work called “Honor”. In the photographs, our everyday life objects are covered with the yellow robes and form an image of Buddha.
