สุริยะภูมิจักรวาลคือ แรงบันดาลใจจากผลงานจิตรกรรมของ อ.ถวัลย์ ดัชนี บนปราสาท เก่าแก่ในประเทศเยอรมันนี้เมื่อ 35 ปีที่แล้ว จากเรื่องราวความศรัทธาที่มีต่อเทพเจ้ามาร์ส ผนวกกับตํานานพระนารายณ์ที่แปลงตัวเป็นนรสิงห์ เป็นครึ่งคนครึ่งสัตว์ มีช้าง นาค อินทรีย์ ราชสีห์ แทนธาตุดินน้ําลมไฟ จวบจนปัจจุบันผลงานบนปราสาทเก่าแก่ชิ้นนี้ ถูกนํามาสร้างเป็นผลงานประติมากรรมสริยภูมิจักรวาล หลอมเป็นเหรียญทองคํา เงิน และบรอนซ์
Suriyaphumi is inspired by the painting of Ajarn Thawan Duchanee in an ancient German castle, which was done 35 years ago. It shows the story of people's faith in Mars, the god of war, combining with the legend of Narayana, and his half human/half lion avatars including Narasimha and all of the four elements - earth, water, air and fire. Until today, this piece of art work has inspired countless other works including the Suriyaphumi sculpture and the Suriyaphumi bronze, silver and gold medals.

Brass and gongs are vigor, strength, resonance and the charm of metal, while timpani tells the story of war and the legend of Mars. The Asian folk melody represents gods and goddesses of Ancient India, eastern philosophy and Buddhism.
